Project Goal
Establish respectful, reciprocal, and sustainable land-water-air
research and education partnerships and capacity that braid
Indigenous Knowledges and Western sciences to advance the
resilience of Indigenous communities to weather and climate
extremes across New Mexico and Oklahoma.
The project’s importance lies in the exchange of ideas that build intergenerational collective knowledge among communities and Indigenous and Western scholars, thereby enhancing resilience in communities that play a crucial role in the regional and national economy and cultural heritage.
